Social events help us stay engaged, maintaining strong connections with our colleagues outside of the workplace and strengthening our community. Employee events include:

  • Making Connections- Annual New Employee Welcome Event
  • Retirement Receptions 
  • Annual Halloween Costume Department Competition
  • Take Our Kids to Work Day
  • Miles for Mental Health Walk/Run
  • Readings by a variety of Canadian writers organized by the Literature Alive committee 
  • The Arts at One series in the Laura C. Muir Performing Arts Theatre featuring professional musicians and outstanding Douglas College music students
  • Concerts of all descriptions from classical recitals to jazz and world music – all organized by the Douglas College Music Department
  • Four productions each year presented by the Departments of Theatre and Stagecraft & Event Technology
  • Monthly Art Exhibits at the College’s Amelia Douglas Gallery
  • Pacific Assistance Dogs Society Puppy Visits to help de-stress
  • Employee Movie Nights 
  • Lights at LaFarge Lake with Douglas College Carolers
  • Monthly gardening workshops offered by the Sustainable Outreach, and Learning Garden at the Coquitlam campus
